Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 March 2026

1. Overview

MockStep (“we”, “our”, “the service”) is a browser-based mockup tool. We are committed to being transparent about the minimal data we collect and how we use it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

2. What We Collect

MockStep is intentionally minimal. Here is everything we may collect:

  • Your display name — stored locally in your browser (localStorage). Never sent to our servers.
  • Images you upload — processed in your browser only. We do not store or transmit your slide images.
  • Basic usage analytics — page views, feature interactions (anonymised, no personal identifiers).
  • Error logs — anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

  • Email addresses or account credentials — no account is required.
  • Payment information — MockStep is currently free.
  • Your design files or exported mockups — these stay on your device.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party analytics tools (e.g. Vercel Analytics) that collect anonymised usage data. These services do not receive personally identifiable information. We do not sell your data to any third party.

5. Cookies

MockStep uses minimal cookies for session continuity. No advertising or tracking cookies are used. You can review and adjust cookie preferences on our Cookie Settings page.

6. Your Rights

Since we store almost nothing about you, there is very little to request. You can clear your local display name at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage. If you believe we hold any personal data about you, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as MockStep evolves. Significant changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
